Ponds that occupy depressions created during glaciation. Examples are kettle holes and channel fillings.
KETTLE HOLE POND. A pond that occupies a depression created by melting of ice. For Herefordshire examples, this ice is thought to be stagnant glacier ice, but more generally could also be icebergs grounded in a lake or ice blocks transported onto a floodplain after an outburst flood.
