Almeley Walk
2.5 miles circular walk exploring the dingle known as The Batch to the west of the village of Almeley.

Birches Farm Trail
1.2 mile circular walk through the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s reserve. Explore the ice age landscape and discover some rare Ice Age ponds and the wildlife that is found in them.

Breinton Walk
2.3 miles circular walk through the fields to the north of Breinton Common which will allow you to see several ice age features along with far reaching views.

Brockhall Walk
1.5 mile circular walk around the ponds of the Brockhall Quarry Nature Reserve. The walk explores both the wildlife and fascinating geology of this former sand and gravel quarry site.

Sturts Trail
1.5 mile circular walk through the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s Sturts North and South Reserves. This flat area, subject to flooding, was occupied by a glacial lake in the last Ice Age. The reserves have many examples of Ice Age ponds and are home to a rich variety of wetland plants and animals.

You can combine these walks with the Car and Cycle Tours through the area.

The map shows the area of western Herefordshire where the Walks produced by the Conserving Herefordshire Ice Age Ponds Project are located. The blue overlay indicates the area covered by the ice sheet that advanced eastward from Wales and was at its maximum extent around 25,000 years ago. Click the labels to the open walks.
